Millicent is AMAZING! I hired her for Day of coordination, and she helped me with whatever was needed up until the day after the wedding. She went above and beyond and was there for me when I was feeling frustrated or nervous about something, always very responsive, organized & so helpful. She thankfully has someone for linens, and I am very happy we decided to add that on and pay a little more, definitely worth it! She was on top of the bridal party and making sure they knew what they needed to do and was firm with a few of them that needed it. She handled everything beautifully on the day of my wedding. She is a trooper for dealing with some stuff that happened with drunk guests and sparklers at the end of the night and honestly so thankful for her and what she had to deal with… She did not deserve what happened, but she made sure the day went perfect for Evan and me, we both were very thankful for her and the stress she took off us! Could not recommend someone more than I do her!!! Could go on for days about how great she is, but I am already rambled on enough, just hire her.. you won’t regret it :) (I also want to recommend not doing a sparkler exit if your guests like to drink as much as mine did)

From start to finish, Millicent was absolutely fantastic. She was responsive, thorough, organized, timely... everything you need (you may not think you do but you will!!) for a wedding planner. She always returned calls and texts, always had an answer to a question, and ALWAYS found a solution to a problem, regardless of how "last minute" it was. Millicent also followed up with us when he had items to "check off" of our to-do list and kept us on track. Day of, she was firm with a few folks who needed a bit of coaching, lol. She stuck up for the groom and myself where we needed it. She kept us on time and ensured vendors were appropriately addressed when needed. I kept wanting to do things to help, but I literally didn't need to. She handled everything. When we first hired her, she planned out a timeline and suggestions of when we ought to do what. She followed up with me consistently and if she didn't have an answer or resolution to an issue or question, she took the time to find it. She handled all of the paperwork with vendors for our venue, and she gathered any and all documents needed when requested by the venue. Millicent also partners with a linen company, which we decided to pay a little extra for. Also 100000000% worth it. They were fabulous. Millicent is absolutely worth investing for your wedding. From the day we hired her until 10:30pm day of, she was an absolute treasure.

Millicent the Magnificent! If there was a problem on our big day - I had no idea - and if that isn't an endorsement, I don't know what is! Millicent kept us calm and moving and all things under control - not only that day but for the month moving up to the wedding. Every question was answered and we were never made to feel like any question was too small or inappropriate. Millicent was there from start to end of our day and kept us smiling and laughing and at ease all day. Our bridal party had such great things to say about Millicent and thought she was one of our friends - not a "hired hand"! While I did not initially plan on hiring a 'day of wedding coordinator,' I can sincerely say it is the best decision I made in the entire wedding process. No issues at all, which is unheard of from all the previous weddings I have been to. Many of our guests mentioned to us how great of a job she did. Best Decision Ever. If you are unsure about whether you should hire a coordinator, let me tell you.. it will be the best decision you’ve ever made. My wedding day was completely stress free and I was able to relax and totally soak in the moment. Millicent made my wedding day one I will never forget. The night before the wedding I was still worrying about all the small last minute details I needed to make sure were just right the next day. The day off was a completely different story. Millicent made sure everything was taken care off.. everything was in place. Tiny details I didn’t even think of, she did and made sure they were perfect. All of my bridal party kept saying “I’ve never seen the bride and family this calm and relaxed before the wedding.” And that’s only because we had Millicent behind the scenes doing a phenomenal job. So the first thing I want to get off my chest is I was adamantly opposed to getting a day-of-coordinator. I believed that with the help of my family that we would be able to get everything finished in time and still have a relaxing day getting ready. I can't even begin to describe how wrong I would've been and how happy I am that I listened to my (now) husband. I came across Millicent with MJM Private Event Planning on The Springs Facebook page. I immediately looked through her website and contacted her for more information. Millicent was quick to respond and set up a meeting with us in a convenient area. We learned that she herself used to manage The Springs Magnolia property and has lots of experience working with most of the vendors we had hired. That she recognized and knew our vendors was such a relief to hear. Millicent also knew all the rules for having a wedding at a Springs location, so she was able to answer all of our questions immediately! During our first meeting with Millicent she provided advice and showed us how she would help get us organized for our day of. Leaving that first meeting we knew that she was the coordinator for us and we were super excited to work with her.

Before the wedding she contacted all vendors for us and worked on final timelines and floor plans to ensure that everything would flow well. She always cc'd us in the emails and directed any questions towards us if she wasn't able to answer them (mainly payment questions). The week of the wedding we met one final time to hash out any final details and she helped put us both at ease and calmed some nerves. Leaving that meeting has us both feeling so much better!

The day of the wedding Millicent was an absolute life saver! We had big plans to get most of our decorating details finished before the day of the wedding, but with me starting my new job and other plans falling through NOTHING got done. We arrived to the venue having to steam/iron our own table cloths AND needing to make easy (but slightly time consuming) floral arrangements. I was a little stressed first thing in the morning because of some little issues and Millicent took us privately out to the ceremony area and told us to just breathe and take in the scenery. Her goal for us was to enjoy the day and to just relax and she did everything she could to make sure that happened. Millicent was able to direct us on things to do so that we were efficient and she herself took over finishing up all the floral arrangements. She worked non-stop to help decorate and make everything look perfect! Also, at one point she was even able to get help from the general manager of The Springs Angleton who even helped steam a few of the table cloths (the plus side of having worked with The Springs!)! During the decorating process Millicent had many ideas on little touches to make everything even more beautiful (like using leftover flowers to decorate our garlands on the stair railings, head table, and welcome table).

Once the wedding began, Millicent kept everything on time and was constantly doing things to keep everything running smoothly. After the ceremony, Millicent made sure to grab a cookie and some appetizers for us before they were all gone. She also made sure that catering served us first at our table and had drinks waiting for us at our seats (she even took our drink orders for us and went to the bar to get them!). We didn't have to do anything at all! Millicent also helped move tables off the dance floor after cocktail hour and move ceremony decorations into the reception hall. Throughout the night, Millicent followed any directions on placing things out for the guests such as glow sticks and an evening snack of chips. She ensured that all vendors were doing what they were supposed to be doing and took charge of any vendor mishaps. We did have minor vendor issues, but Millicent was able to take care of all of them herself so we had no idea that anything was going wrong! She sent us a wedding recap email after the wedding to let us know little things that happened throughout the day that we werent personally there for. Loved it!

I highly recommend Millicent Butcher for your wedding coordination and have only good things to say about our experience with her. All the bridesmaids, moms, and other family members who were able to work with Millicent throughout the day only said great things about her. My mother and sister also agree that without Millicent the day would not of gone as well as it had. Our day happened perfectly thanks to her and I could not imagine not having had her there. Thank you so much Millicent! Hope to use your business again (with my sister)!

Our coordinator, Millicent, was easy to work with and she was always extremely responsive and never left us waiting for anything. Because we live in Lubbock, TX, planning a wedding in Houston definitely had its challenges but Millicent helped take some of the stress off of us. We were planning on having our wedding in June 2017, but do to a wonderful surprise, we discovered that my wife was pregnant! We decided to move our wedding date to a sooner date (September, 2016). Millicent also made sure that my wife had plenty of ginger ale and snacks in the bridal suite to help ease her morning sickness.  We don't drink alcohol but we still wanted to do a champagne toast with sparkling juice. Millicent made sure that happened and it was free of charge too since we had asked for the drink package (tea, coffee, juice, etc.). Our flower vendor REALLY dropped the ball for our wedding which was a disappointment (a story for different review), but Millicent came through in helping relieve some of the problem. Millicent and our cake vendor took matters into their own hands and actually cut some flowers to decorate the cake and made a small floral cake topper out of the extra flowers that we had and it ended up looking great. We sent Millicent an email about what had happened and she was very apologetic and has contacted the cake vendor to make us a new top tier of cake. While there were a couple mistakes on our wedding day, Millicent went above and beyond in almost everything she helped us with. She was a great listener when we discussed how we wanted our big day to go and seemed genuinely excited to be helping us along. I highly recommend asking for her to be your wedding coordinator!
